At Idaho Poly Coons, we raise exceptional animals in a loving and caring environment. Dedicated to following a responsible breeding program, our focus is on keeping our animals healthy and happy for when they find their new homes. Polydactyl means cats with thumbs (or extra toes)! The Maine Coons we breed are both conventional and polydactyl. Polydactyls are so cool and they have incredible grip when playing or climbing. During our learning phase we've had many older cat breeders warn us against breeding poly's to poly's they said it can cause health problems. Our King is poly, our queen is not. We have a tremendous amount of photos on our facebook page, more so there, than on this website.

At Idaho Poly Coons, we're a small family business that is building our reputation as a trusted Cat Breeder in Jerome Idaho. We take our responsibilities very seriously and strive to ensure the health, safety and well-being of all our pets. That’s why the happiest days for us are when one of our animals is adopted by a loving and welcoming family. We've raised animals our whole lives. Nick McKay the man of the family, is a farmer raising corn, wheat, barley & hay, he has worked along side his father since he was a boy. Niki McKay, the woman, me lol is Nick's wife, a mother, and a Realtor pushed her family to start this business. We've had a myriad of pets & show animals dogs, horses, pigs, steers, birds, fish and cats growing up before meeting each other, and again with each other throughout our relationship. We've wanted to get a Maine Coon cat as a pet for years and we debated between various exotic breeds like Bengal, Lynx, & Bobcat. We decided on Polydactyl Maine Coons because they are exquisitely beautiful, intelligent, gentle, funny, & huge! The reason it took us so long to get into Maine Coons is because there are limited Maine Coon resources & cat shows in our area, the expense of a quality animal can be ridiculous and there are a lot of scammers out there. We were victims of a scam before getting started, we lost $1,400 by paying for two Maine Coon kittens from "New Jersey", online through Zelle from Skylar Main Coon Cattery. The scammers told us the kittens would be couriered to our home within 2 days, they sent us photos & videos of the kittens we chose and convinced us to pay them then they completely ghosted us. I don't know what ever happened to the kittens that we got photos & videos of, we hope they are ok! In the wake of that terrible experience, we vow to never scam anyone wanting to buy one of our precious kittens.
